Every year the Consumerists lets readers vote in a tiered tournament to determine the worst company in America. In the finals, EA handily beat the Bank of America, taking over 64% of total votes. It was voted worse than companies like Wal-mart, AT&T, Comcast, and Citibank. How evil do you have to be to be voted worse than Wal-Mart? A qoute from the consumerists announcement read “Readers ultimately decided that the type of greed exhibited by EA, which is supposed to be making the world a more fun place, is worse than Bank of America’s avarice, which some would argue is the entire point of operating a bank.” Of course, EA tried to reply with “We’re sure that bank presidents, oil, tobacco, and weapons companies are all relieved they weren’t on the list this year. We’re going to continue making award-winning games and services played by more than 300 million people worldwide.” Sorry EA, but this poll was a reader poll. Looks like people are tired of the Madden updates and being charged to unlock content in used games.
