Retro City Rampage
If you happen to be a fan of either NES style games or the older Grand Theft Auto games (think parts 1 or 2) than there's an upcoming indie game release that is going to be right up your alley.

Over at www.retrocityrampage.com, you can preorder the new game for $14.99. Its a tad high for an indie game, but totally worth it when you look at what it is: an NES style open sandbox game in the vein of Grand Theft Auto. Pre-ordering the game gets you both the DRM free version as well as the Steam version. It also scores a few preorder bonuses, such as a 10 track mini-soundtrack, a print ready download for making your own NES style Retro City Rampage box and label, as well as a manual, all pre-made in the proper dimensions, and 20% off any RCR merch. Not a bad deal, and the music in particular is very well done from the bonus stuff.

The game started life as Grand Theftendo and was actually playable on an NES if using a flash cart. The author never finished Grand Theftendo and instead ported it to his new project, Retro City Rampage. Its slated for release this coming May.
